While there is no direct answer to this question, in this post, we consider whether picking individual stocks is worth the additional risk compared to buying a well-diversified ETF
Hi Ellen, I am sorry about the slightly delayed response, but thank you for your interest. I can depend a bit on where you are located as not all ETFs are as well available, but the ones mentioned by @the simple side below are definitely among the best.
I personally quite like SWDA as well as an all-developed markets ETF. It reinvests dividends, which can be favorable when it comes to taxes for those not living from dividends and not wanting to hassle with reallocating this money.
When it comes to the S&P500, VOO is a no-brainer due to its low costs, or IUSA for those unable to buy VOO through their broker, especially in Europe.
For exposure to semiconductors, I like SOXX or SMH.
Other great ones include QQQ (Nasdaq) and VTI (Total Stock Market).
If you want some suggestions for specific industries, sectors, or markets, let me know and I'll take a look! Cheers!
great article, yes, I'd like some ETF recommendations, thanks
VGT, SCHG, VTI, VOO, SCHD.

Depends on what you are looking for in an EFT.
The following are popular ETFs.
SCHD, VTI, VOO, DIV, SPY, QQQ
Really good article I personally invest in both but I strongly invest in the VTI from Vanguard
VTI is great!
